Giving

We’re extremely grateful to anyone who would like to give to the work of St Mark’s. Your kind and generous donation will not only help us meet our financial obligations but also enable us to invest in God’s kingdom so that we can continue the work He has called us to.

As a voluntary organisation we receive no funding from either the government or the local authority, so we receive most of our income from those who are part of our church family.

We pay a sum each year to the Diocese, which contributes towards their cost of providing a vicar and other services to us.

We use the rest of our income to maintain, light and heat our building, to pay for all the activities we undertake within the church and in the local community, and give at least 10% away each year to local, national and international charities, causes and appeals.

We are also blessed when people remember us and leave us legacies in their wills. If you would like to consider doing this, please contact either Ben, our vicar, or our Treasurer, Peter Arnold.

There are a number of different ways you can give, information about which can be found below.

Thank you in advance for your generosity – it is very much appreciated by us all.

By submitting this declaration I confirm that I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year it is my responsibility to pay any difference. Please notify St. Mark's if you want to cancel this declaration, change your name or home address, or no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains. If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.
